Our white rum evokes the clandestine tales where smugglers once navigated rugged shores and flew over sparkling seas. Experience the crisp, clean taste of Catalina Rum Company's Caribbean white rum, which boasts light, fruity, herbal and floral notes with a subtle sweetness. Crafted from freshly pressed sugarcane juice rather than molasses, this light rum captures the pure, vibrant essence of the cane, resulting in a more complex and aromatic spirit with a smooth, mellow finish.

Rhum agricole, distinct from other white rums, is characterized by its grassy, vegetal flavors and a more complex, aromatic profile derived from fresh sugarcane juice rather than molasses. The process and style of rhum agricole originated from the French Caribbean, particularly the island of Martinique. This artisanal approach contrasts sharply with mass-produced white rum, which often relies on industrial processes and lacks the depth of flavor and terroir inherent in rhum agricole.

Our rum is pure and unadulterated with absolutely no sugar or colouring added post distillation, it’s also vegan-friendly and gluten-free.

  • Our spirit undergoes filtration to remove any color, resulting in a crystal-clear liquid.

  • Our white rum is light and mild, offering a clean, crisp taste with delicate hints of fruity, herbal and floral notes. The subtle sweetness stems from the rhum agricole used, crafted from freshly pressed sugarcane juice rather than molasses, resulting in a more complex and aromatic spirit.

  • Thanks to our filtration process and short aging period, our white rum is exceptionally smooth, with a subtle character and mellow flavor.

  • Our white rum boasts a subtle character and blends seamlessly into a variety of mixed drinks, free from the harsh alcohol flavor often found in other white rums! Check out our recipes to get started!

Significance

Behind the Label

Catalina Casino, Avalon, California

Catalina Casino

Located in Avalon, Catalina Casino is one of the most iconic landmarks of the island. Despite its name, it has never been a gambling establishment. The term "casino" comes from the Italian word meaning a gathering place or social club.

Built by William Wrigley Jr. in 1929, the owner of Catalina Island, its Art Deco and Mediterranean Revival design stands out with a circular structure and a height of 140 feet. The Casino boasts a 20,000-square-foot ballroom on the upper level, which was the largest ballroom in the world at the time of its completion. It also features the Avalon Theatre on the lower level, a classic movie palace with 1,154 seats. The ballroom was a significant entertainment venue in the 1930s and 1940s, hosting big bands and orchestras, and it remains a popular venue for events today. Public tours are available to view the building’s magnificent architecture and extraordinary Art Deco murals.

SeaPlanes

Seaplanes have a storied history on Catalina Island, closely linked to the development of aviation in Southern California. The first recorded flight to Catalina was made by Glenn L. Martin in 1912, who flew from Newport Beach to Avalon Bay in a seaplane he built himself. For generations, Catalina Island seaplanes were a popular mode of cross channel transportation, bringing thousands of individuals to the island. These seaplanes initially utilized a terminal at what is now Hamilton Cove. These days, most flights to Catalina Island are via helicopter. However, there are seaplane island tours offering a unique view of the spectacular sea cliffs, clear blue water and the picturesque town of Avalon.
